Biography
Dr. Tetsuya Hirata maintains a private practice in Osaka, Japan and studies on microdentistry and dental materials/devices at Osaka University. He received his DDS from Osaka Dental University in 1985 and received his PhD in Oromaxillofacial regeneration from Osaka University, Graduate School of Dentistry in 2002. He studied in the Department of Graduated Prosthodontics at the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry from 1990 through 1991. He has served as the director for the Microscope Assisted Precision Dentistry course, a microdentistry training course of microprosthodontics, microendodontics, microperiodontics / microsurgery / plastic surgery, and restorative microdentistry in Japan since 1996. Dr.Hirata published and presented on dental CAD/CAM systems, microdentistry, titanium dental prostheses, and TMD. A TV broad cast regarding microdentistry is available from his web site.
